  • Mobile communication applications. How safe are they?

    10.3.2015

Security threats have become increasingly frequent for the billions of mobile users worldwide, especially as the smart phones and tablets industry is becoming stronger.

Users, companies or individuals, must understand that mobile devices are exposed perhaps more than desktops to risks and that investment in protection against cyber-attacks costs less than the material and moral damage of such an attack.

A study conducted with a group of security monitoring applications on a regular phone reveals results that should fire a warning.

On a regular phone, 5 applications have the right to access your SMS and /or MMS. 31 applications can access personal information and your contact list and 19 can access your location. Of course many of these applications have almost total access to all your personal information. Not the case with Trust4Mobile.

Please have a look at the comparative table below, resulted after running all security applications installed on a phone that has both Trust4Mobile and other communication applications.

App Access to Internet Location Profile Access to contact list Access to Pictures Permission to receive SMS Permission to send SMS
Trust4Mobile Yes No No No No No No
Skype Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes
WhatsApp Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes
Viber Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes
Yahoo Messenger Yes Yes No No No Yes Yes

These communication applications can be evaluated in terms of security and risk score as shown below. Trust4Mobile has the lower security risk, while Viber has the greatest security risk. Details of each application and security risk description can be found in the gallery below.

As always, the choice belongs to the user. Only the user can decide which application best meets his communication needs. If one of these needs is the privacy and security of personal messages, we invite you to learn more about Trust4Mobile.
